August into September

This past week and a half have been such a whirlwind start to the school year! It's been so wonderful to see the students at the school again and to feel their energy. And the business only continues as we finish out August and enter September.

A NEWsletter for the New School Year

As the PTA, our hope this year is to inform and involve as many people as possible. We want everyone to be aware of PTA happenings and to feel welcomed to participate and volunteer whenever able. Therefore, we've decided to post a monthly newsletter that will contain all the information on important upcoming dates and events.

Silent Auction and Carnival

We're proud to present this year's Silent Auction and Carnival! 


Silent Auction

The Silent Auction will begin August 30 and run through September 6. Please visit the auction website to see the fabulous items available and PLEASE BID on some of your favorites! We have had some amazing donations this year from local businesses (photo sessions, delectable desserts, artistic prints) as well as donations from the U's football program, Real Salt Lake, Clean Simple Eats, and Just Ingredients.

Carnival

Moreover, we're excited to host our Carnival on September 6 from 4:30 to 7:00. We'll have so many fun activities available including a tractor train, face painting, a dunk tank, dino dig, and a petting zoo. We'll also have affordable hot dog meals available as well as cotton candy! Feed your entire family for a great price! Tickets and meals can be purchased ahead of time on our website or at the entrance table. Tickets are $7 per child; parents and children 3 and under are free. We also have a "buy three tickets get one free" option for larger parties. Meals are also available for purchase and are DISCOUNTED if purchased online during our presale.

PTA Monthly Meeting

Our next PTA meeting will be on Wednesday, September 11, at 10:00 AM. Anyone is welcome to attend! And we love littles so bring them along with you!

School Pictures

School pictures will be on Friday, September 13, throughout the day. We need volunteers to help move students through this process. Please sign up on this link if you have time during that day to come help. And remember that volunteers receive a free school picture package! So it's definitely worth your time!



Spirit Wear

And don't forget that this year's school t-shirt is still available for purchase on our website. Plus, starting in September we will begin our Spirit Friday contest in which students are encouraged to wear a school t-shirt from this year or past years or another shirt with school colors (maroon or gray) each Friday. Classes that have the highest percentage of attendees wearing spirit wear or spirit colors will be able to win cool prizes each month and possibly a pizza or ice cream party at the end of the semester!

Welcome to the 2024/2025 School Year

Another school year is here! We have so missed seeing all of the students, teachers, and staff at Orchard Hills and we are so excited to begin another year with everyone returning (or beginning as new students!) to the school in a few short days.
